Early Street Market
The Ming and Qing styled commercial row
extends more than 1500 meters long where
you can buy sou venirs
and local products, such as Chinese ink
sticks, ink stones and pen brushes. Housewives
like the dried bamboo shoots and mushrooms
very much.
Men forks like to choose some tea products
as local tea enjoys a great reputation in
ASEAN region and the price is only one third
of Dragon Well Tea in Hangzhou. You will
find the street
market is always crowded with tourists late
in the afternoon till mid-night, where you
can either try some local cuisines and snacks
or have your feet massaged after a day’s
trekking. The evening show of the local
opera has gained lots of applauses from
tour groups at a theatre not afar. The traditional
atmosphere of the construction style is
so characteristic and original that the
street has been often used as a shooting
site of many films about old China. This
street market is really a must-see for tourists
after back to the downtown hotels and before
departing the local for the next destination.
And my office is just at the starting side
of the market street, it will be great to
serve you a cup of green tea at my office
and show you around the old town.
