Suggested Itinerary over Huangshan Trekking
Day 1.
Take an afternoon bus from Shanghai Southern
Bus Station
And the bus trip would be 5 hours.
As soon as you arrive at Huangshan City
around 7—8 in the evening, take a cab to
your Hotel ( Huashan Hotel ) 4 star
The cab fee would be less than 8 yuan. Tell
the reception your name and you can get
the key.
Day 2. The driver will pick you up at the
lobby after your breakfast. You will drive
to Huangshan ("Huang" means "yellow"
and "shan" means "mountain"),
about 75 km northwest of Tunxi. In 1990
UNESCO listed the Huangshan region as a
world cultural and natural heritage site.
Huangshan is one of the most spectacular
areas in all of China. Its unique scenery
of jagged peaks and twisted pines is often
depicted in traditional Chinese paintings.
Rocks, mist, trees, temples and water make
this an unforgettable place. Within an area
of 154 square kilometers is a crown of peaks,
with 72 named for the shapes they resemble.
Lotus Flower, Bright Top and Celestial Capital
are the three major ones, all rising above
1,800 meters (5,600 feet). You will hike
about three hours to reach the summit and
the setting for the Beihai Hotel.
Remember: begin your hike from the western
path and walk to the rear part, your hotel
(Beihai Hotel) is located on the rear part
of the mountain. If you are patient, let's
discuss your tour program face to face.

Hike to Huangshan summit [2 miles, more
than 1000 steps to climb, 1600 meters or
5000 feet above sea level, 4 hours; guests
carry a change of clothing in their day
back and leave their luggage locked in the
shuttle vehicle as there is no road access
to the Beihai Hotel
Day 3. Watch the sunrise and get down to
the bottom and your departure time is suggested
before 4 in the afternoon.
One of the highlights of a visit to Huangshan
is a Beihai sunrise: with a sea of low clouds
blanketing the valley to the north and "island"
peaks hazily reaching for the heavens. After
breakfast you can cover more scenic spots
around your hotel, such as Begin-believe
Peak and Grand Valley close to West Sea
Areas. Remember to get to bottom before
noon and your driver will greet you at Yungu
Cable Car Station. Then you can drive to
Hongtsun to have a look at the typical Ming
Village ( listed as a the world cultural
heritage); you can have a farmer’s lunch
in a 300 years old house and your tour might
last about 2 hours. Then back to Tunxi downtown
overnight
Day 4. Take a coach tour to Hangzhou and
stay at Hangzhou
West Lake Cruise tour and some well-known
resorts, such the Lingyin Temple and Dragon
Well Tea Plantation, Silk Factory, night
show, etc. stay at Hangzhou
Day 5. Continue your tour at Hangzhou and
take a modern train back to Shanghai in
the afternoon, the train trip only takes
about 1 hour. Back to your Shanghai hotel
before 16 in the afternoon.
