Guilin Tour Tips
You can fly to Guilin from most the major cities in China. Two days’ tour is usually enough. If you are middle aged or aged, we suggest you have a simple city tour when you arrive at the local. There are some beautiful parks around the downtown areas and you can get some glimpses of the local scenes. The next day you can take a cruise tour along the Lijiang River and enjoy the splendid landscape of riversides.
For more than 4 hours’ river journey, most of the tourists would stay on the deck to enjoy the view and won’t get down into the cabinet for fear that they might miss an even better picturesque scene further ahead. So try to appreciate the views as much as possible as you are passing through the most beautiful water channel in the world. Every minute is dear and valuable.

Then in the afternoon you can have stroll at Yangshuo downtown when your cruise reaches the port. After about 2 hours’ sightseeing there, you will get on board the bus and back to your hotel at Guilin at dusk. The tour route is simple and easy, the most important benefit is you can cover the highlights of Guilin and Yangshuo with shortest time and simplest way.
If you are young and energetic, we suggest you go to stay at Yangshuo directly after you arrive at the airport. You can stay at Yangshuo for two days as there are many different kinds of hotel you can choose and rate is low. Then you can explore some new and fresh scenes besides the landscape around the town. The advantages of this tour route are more economical and footloose and fancy-free. You can choose whatever scenes you prefer: rivers, hills, villages and people.
There are many westerners settled at Yangshuo and these guys opened their own bars, internet coffees and even restaurants. You can get some tour tips from these people directly when you reach there. Maybe, they can lend you a bicycle for free and you might enjoy yourself so much in the country views around that you will forget to return home. If you want save more money, you can take a night shuttle bus sleeper back to Guangzhou. A German-made luxurious bus, 9 hours, 300 yuan / per head.
